Blood suckers...

Another somewhat routine day at work... Almost finished updating the accounting files...

I'm more and more convinced that banks are nothing more than blood suckers! Today, the Owner asked me how much the loan payment we had to make for June was. When I came forward with the amount, he said: "Write a cheque for half that amount!" I guess this is his form of protest against this particular bank's "unreasonable loan terms", and I've heard him complain more than once to the Banker he deals with about the $%&^ money he shells out every month to them!

It's a bit difficult to explain... The long and the short of it is just another example of the big dogs lining their pockets with cash at the expense of the little people... The Owner also left us explicit instructions to let him talk to the Banker, or anyone else at the bank, for that matter, should they call asking for the rest of their money... (I like how this guy thinks!)

They've been doing road work on my street all this week... Not entirely sure if they're installing the pipelines for natural gas, or upgrading the sewer system; but it's been causing me some headaches... Yesterday, coming home for lunch, I couldn't get into my driveway! Their big steam shovel was blocking the way!! The steam shovel was still there when I came home from work yesterday evening, so I had to leave my car out on the street all night; which worried me... I was afraid that some jerk would leave scratch marks on it overnight... Some idiot already put a dent in it the day I went on vacation! Or worse yet, it wouldn't be there the next morning!!

But it was still there when I got out this morning... and in on piece (YAY!). Today, they've moved up a few feet; so at least I won't have to worry about my driveway being blocked... I'll just have to take a different leaving and coming back home, that's all... which is no bigee...
